Body Basics is a beginner level strengthening training session for adults.  An exercise class for individuals new to exercise who need guidance or who have a health related physical limitation to work around. These strength training classes involves standing and sitting exercises. We use hand weights and participants can stand and/or sit to perform theses exercises.
Weights are provided.

PATH Community Day

Saturday 11:30 am to 1:30 pm

Join us for PATH Community Day for a free event for the family! There will be healthy snacks, games, prizes, a bike rodeo, walk-a-thon by Fleet Feet, skyline and disc golf, inflatables, and try-it tennis!

*Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. On-site permission will be required for children wishing to climb the inflatable rock wall, use the bounce house, or the inflatable obstacle course.

Life-Guard 35th Anniversary Expo at the Airport

Kids Fishing Day

Saturday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Narrow State Park - Route 61 Park Drive, Narrows, VA 24124

"Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs" at the Narrows Kids Fishing Day, sponsored by the Town of Narrows, Carilion Clinic Giles Community Hospital, Giles County Sheriff's Department and the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.

Kids from ages 3 to 15 can experience a fun day of fishing in Wolf Creek.  Fishing for younger children will begin at 9:00 AM and all participants can begin fishing at 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM - Registration begins at 8:00 AM.   Please supply your own fishing equipment and bait-- there will be a limited number of "loaner" fishing poles available.  DGIF will be stocking the creek with fish for this event.

The first 350 children will receive free T-shirts (courtesy of James Hardie Building Products), goody bags and will also be entered to win one of a wide assortment of prizes. 
An official check-in station will be on-site and trophies will be awarded in a variety of categories and age groups.  There will be other activities throughout the event --  bounce houses, casting contests, arts and crafts, face painting, magician, etc.  
Food concessions will be available for purchase to support the local Fire Department.

Join us for Arts for Healing, a special evening honoring Julien H. Meyer Jr., M.D., for his service to patients and to the community. The event benefits the Dr. Robert L.A. Keeley Healing Arts Program at Carilion Clinic and will also feature the Boxes for Hope and Healing Silent Auction.

Event Program

  • 6 p.m.: Cocktail reception (cash bar) and Boxes for Hope and Healing silent auction
  • 6:30 p.m.: Dinner and special entertainment
  • Business attire.

About the Boxes for Hope and Healing Silent Auction

Artists throughout the community have created Boxes for Hope and Healing to be auctioned during the Arts for Healing event. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Dr. Robert L.A. Keeley Healing Arts Program at Carilion Clinic.
