"Tons of Fun" - Tanglewood Mall

This Free family fun day of activities include clowns, puppet shows, music, magicians, games, craft activities, caricatures, carnival rides, entertainment and much more spread throughout the Mall. Tons of Fun is designed to enthrall, engage and bring a smile to the faces of children and their families.  The Annual Tons of Fun event is sponsored by Roanoke County Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.  

Carilion Clinic will also be present with informative booths/tables for you to view!

All activities are Free - come out and join the fun!

No appointment needed.  All you need to do is walk in during this event!

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must not be taking antibiotics or have a current acute illness such as a cold.

Carilion Clinic's Kids on the Move are active and involved in their communities.  

You can join Carilion Clinic's Kids on the Move by simply signing up for an upcoming event.  Kids on the Move will be in Franklin County Christmas Parade.  We'll be marching and you can join us!

Children ages 7 years and up, or younger with an adult, are encouraged to participate.

At this Free Event, Dr. Brian K. Unwin, M.D., Chief of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Carilion Clinic Center for Healthy Aging, will address tips on what you can do to keep your brain sharp, improve your memory as you age and what you can do to help put your mind at ease.

Come Home to a Franklin County Christmas

The evening starts with the "Biggest Little Christmas Parade", as streets are closed for the much-anticipated festival.  

Carilion Clinic will be at "The North Pole" at the Rocky Mount Train Depot where fun children's activities can be experienced! Franklin Street will be filled from the Train Depot to Bootleggers Cafe with live music, dance performances, various demonstrations, free horse and buggy rides, local artisans, food & craft vendors and much, much more!

GOT DRUGS?

Turn in your unused and/or expired medications for safe disposal. No appointment is necessary - the public is welcome. Simply bring your medications to this event where they can be safely collected and destroyed by local law enforcement and DEA agents.

90 percent of teens get prescription drugs from the home medicine cabinet and friends. Participating in this drug take-back event instead of leaving medications unsecured in your home or flushing them down the toilet will help prevent drug abuse and protect your valley's waterways.
