Diverticulitis: Knowing a Common Digestive Disorder

As you age, you may experience changes in your digestive tract, developing inflammation that can cause belly pain, bloating or trouble in the bathroom. These changes can be symptoms of a common digestive disorder called diverticulitis.

Join Carilion Clinic gastroenterologist Anand Kishore, M.D., to understand your risks and symptoms and to learn about available treatments and preventive lifestyle changes you can make.

Quick, Easy and Healthy - Cooking on a Budget

Join us and learn basic cooking techniques with a live demonstration by a registered dietitian. Healthy recipes and food samples will be provided.

Join us for an evening of valuable educational information about the role of mammography, recommended age and frequency of screening mammography, role of family history in breast health, breast density, and what to do if you find a lump.

Know Your Body Better: Healthy Living Series

Join us for a Healthy Living seminar series for adults, and learn information to keep you and your family members healthy!

This series is a partnership with the YMCA Express at Gainsboro, New Horizons Healthcare and the Virginia Tech Cooperative Extension.

The six-week seminar series includes topics such as "Warning Signs: Heart Attack and Stroke," "Understanding Stress" and more. Each seminar will include an educational presentation, cooking demonstration and food sampling.

Seminars will be held each Tuesday from Oct. 6 until Nov. 10, 1 - 3 p.m. at the YMCA Express at Gainsboro. The program is open to all adults (you do not need to be a member of the YMCA Express), and there is no cost to attend.
