Come and join in this event with one of Carilion Clinic's Cardiologist, Dr. Ijeoma N. Okogbue, M.D. as Dr. Okogbue presents, "Keeping Your Heart Healthy at Any Age."  Dr. Okogbue will discuss and give an overview of heart disease, the risk factors and strategies for maintaining heart health.

Balanced Living with Diabetes

Come out and enjoy some tasty foods made just for the person who is Diabetic! 

Carilion Clinic is partnering with Franklin County Parks & Recreation and Virginia Tech to present four (4) classes on "Balanced Living with Diabetes", along with some great recipes to taste. During these meetings, topics such as:

  • Learning to live with Diabetes

  • Healthy Eating practices/tips and

  • Exercising/Maintaining a Healthy weight, will be discussed and more!

Diverticulitis: Knowing a Common Digestive Disorder

As you age, you may experience changes in your digestive tract, developing inflammation that can cause belly pain, bloating or trouble in the bathroom. These changes can be symptoms of a common digestive disorder called diverticulitis.

Join Carilion Clinic gastroenterologist Anand Kishore, M.D., to understand your risks and symptoms and to learn about available treatments and preventive lifestyle changes you can make.

Quick, Easy and Healthy - Cooking on a Budget

Want to learn how to cook healthy meals that won't break your budget? Don't have tons of time to spend in the kitchen? Struggling with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or weight? Or just want to learn some new recipes? This class is for you!

Join us and learn basic cooking techniques with a live demonstration by a registered dietitian. Healthy recipes and food samples will be provided.

The class will be held at the Carilion Clinic Diabetes Management Program located at 1030 S. Jefferson St., Suite G101, in Roanoke.
