    Participants should plan to attend this class at the beginning of their third (3rd) Trimester.  This course is taught by a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE).
    Dress comfortably as you will be sitting / lying on the floor. *Please take two pillows and a blanket to each of your six Prepared Childbirth Classes.

    Come and join us each month for Carilion Clinic's guided Health Walk and Talk along the 1 ½ mile Jack-O-Lantern Branch Trail at Booker T. Washington National Monument.    

    Each walk will include an optional nature challenge hunt.  Walkers will be given the name and description of a natural element along the trail and challenged to find it! Door prize drawing every walk for a collapsible water bottle.      

    It's recommended walkers bring bottled water and dress appropriate for the weather and trail conditions.  

    The Trail is not handicap accessible or accessible to strollers.  This event is Free.

    Ground level fall related injuries are increasing every year. In 2015, trauma admissions for these injuries surpassed all other reason for traumatic admissions for the first time.  With this knowledge, the fear of falling is growing.  A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls is an evidence based program that takes a multi-faceted approach to fall prevention. This program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls.

    Participants will learn to:
    · View falls as controllable
    · Set goals for increasing activity
    · Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
    · Exercise to increase strength and balance.

    · 8-week workshop
    · 2 hours each week

    Carilion Clinic, Jefferson College of Health Sciences and Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine are offering Camp Carilion Clinic for rising eighth- and ninth-graders who are interested in a future career in healthcare. Throughout the four-day camp, students will have an opportunity for career exploration through hands-on exercises and interactive demonstrations.

    • Patient Transportation

    • Radiology
    • Trauma

    Camp Carilion Clinic will be held July 11 – 14, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Lunch will be provided. The cost is $50 to attend and financial assistance is available upon request.

    Ground level fall related injuries are increasing every year. In 2015, trauma admissions for these injuries surpassed all other reason for traumatic admissions for the first time.  With this knowledge, the fear of falling is growing.  A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls is an evidence based program that takes a multi-faceted approach to fall prevention. This program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls.

    Participants will learn to:
    · View falls as controllable
    · Set goals for increasing activity
    · Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
    · Exercise to increase strength and balance.
     
    Program Overview:
    · 8-week workshop
    · 2 hours each week
    · Sessions lead by certified coaches who have personal experience in dealing with falling

    Come and join us each month for Carilion Clinic's guided Health Walk and Talk along the 1 ½ mile Jack-O-Lantern Branch Trail at Booker T. Washington National Monument.    

    Each walk will include an optional nature challenge hunt.  Walkers will be given the name and description of a natural element along the trail and challenged to find it! Door prize drawing every walk for a collapsible water bottle.      

    It's recommended walkers bring bottled water and dress appropriate for the weather and trail conditions.

    Come and join us each month for Carilion Clinic's guided Health Walk and Talk along the 1 ½ mile Jack-O-Lantern Branch Trail at Booker T. Washington National Monument.    

    Each walk will include an optional nature challenge hunt.  Walkers will be given the name and description of a natural element along the trail and challenged to find it! Door prize drawing every walk for a collapsible water bottle.      

    It's recommended walkers bring bottled water and dress appropriate for the weather and trail conditions.  

    The Trail is not handicap accessible or accessible to strollers.  This event is Free.

    Join us for the third annual Carilion Clinic Life-Guard Rotor Run 5K race! Proceeds support a Jefferson College of Health Sciences (JCHS) scholarship benefiting students pursuing a Flight Medicine career.

    The route starts on Wiley Drive, follows the Roanoke River along the scenic Roanoke Valley Greenways and finishes at the River’s Edge Sports Complex. Medals will be awarded to top placements per age group. Participants are also permitted to bring their dogs with them for the race!

    Come and join us each month for Carilion Clinic's guided Health Walk and Talk along the 1 ½ mile Jack-O-Lantern Branch Trail at Booker T. Washington National Monument.    

    Each walk will include an optional nature challenge hunt.  Walkers will be given the name and description of a natural element along the trail and challenged to find it! Door prize drawing every walk for a collapsible water bottle.      

    It's recommended walkers bring bottled water and dress appropriate for the weather and trail conditions.  

    The Trail is not handicap accessible or accessible to strollers.  This event is Free.

    It's recommended walkers bring bottled water and dress appropriate for the weather and trail conditions.
