    Ground level fall related injuries are increasing every year.  In 2015, trauma admissions for these injuries surpassed all other reason for traumatic admissions for the first time.  With this knowledge, the fear of falling is growing.  A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls is an evidence based program that takes a multi-faceted approach to fall prevention. This program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls.

    Participants will learn to:

    · Set goals for increasing activity
    · Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
    · Exercise to increase strength and balance.

    There is also a weekend class available on a limited basis.
    Participants should plan to attend this class at the beginning of their third (3rd) Trimester.  This course is taught by a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE).
    Dress comfortably as you will be sitting / lying on the floor. *Please take two pillows and a blanket to each of your six Prepared Childbirth Classes.

    Come and join us for a Wellness Walk and Talk along the 1 ½ mile Jack-O-Lantern Branch Trail, which is considered easy/moderate due to a hill to climb.  Each walk will be led by a knowledgeable trail guide.  

    The theme for this Wellness walk will be "Get Back to Nature".  Each month a trail guide will lead a nature walk and share their knowledge of plants, birds, trees, etc. during the wellness walk.    

    Participants should bring a bottle of water and dress appropriate for the weather and trail conditions.  

    The Trail is not handicap accessible or accessible to strollers.  This event is Free of charge.

    Come and join us for a Wellness Walk and Talk along the 1 ½ mile Jack-O-Lantern Branch Trail, which is considered easy/moderate due to a hill to climb.  Each walk will be led by a knowledgeable trail guide.  

    The theme for this Wellness walk will be "Get Back to Nature".  Each month a trail guide will lead a nature walk and share their knowledge of plants, birds, trees, etc. during the wellness walk.    

    Participants should bring a bottle of water and dress appropriate for the weather and trail conditions.  

    The Trail is not handicap accessible or accessible to strollers.  This event is Free of charge.
