Do you know the warning signs of a Stroke? Do you know what to do when a Stroke happens? When a Stroke happens, Minutes matter!

A Stroke is a sudden problem that affects the blood vessels of the brain and occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted, also often called "a brain attack".  "When a Stroke occurs, brain cells in the immediate area begin to die because they stop getting the oxygen and nutrients they need in order to function".  You could be at risk for a Stroke if you are 50 years of age and/or older and you have one or more of the following risk factors:

  • High Blood Pressure;
  • Diabetes;
  • Cardiovascular Disease;
  • A Family history of any of these factors and/or
  • You are a smoker.

On Saturday, January 9th, our Crystal Spring pharmacy located inside the Crystal Spring Medical Office Building will offer A1C and Lipid Testing.  The out-of-pocket cost for each test is $20 ($40 total if you have both tests done).  The cost is not billed to insurance.  No appointment and/or doctor's orders are needed and the results are accurate and quick.
