If you know or suspect that your young child isn't developing at the same pace as others of the same age, we're here to help. Our Child Development Clinic can help you get to the root of the problem and identify the best therapies. We're committed to a family-centered approach to health care. From birth to 8 years of age (and older as appropriate), our clinic provides neuro-developmental assessment and evaluation for a variety of suspected developmental disabilities and learning disorders such as:
- Developmental Delay
- Speech/language delays and disorders
- Fine and/or motor delays and disorders
- Cognitive delays
- Sensory integration dysfunction
- Autistic spectrum disorders
- Attention and behavioral/emotional problems
- Learning disabilities
Our multidisciplinary team incorporates child psychology, educational consultation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, pediatric nursing and clinical social work. Also, we work closely with an education specialist who offers school-based recommendations and coordinates follow-up plans to ensure implementation.
Since no one knows your child better than you do, parents are encouraged to actively participate in the assessment process. Based on your child's individual needs, we'll do our best to evaluate his/her strengths and weaknesses in many areas of functioning. We will identify the factors that may be contributing to your child's challenges and we'll make recommendations, including appropriate educational goals, settings and strategies. A physician referral is required.
