Cancer Care

Research & Academics

One way that Carilion Clinic is staying on the forefront of cancer treatment is by being involved in research. By being involved in clinical trials and staying updated on the latest treatment options, our patients know they are getting the best possible care, right here at home.

Gynecologic Oncology Research

Carilion Clinic's Gynecologic Oncology program conducts progressive research trials through the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Our program conducts 15-20 studies at any given time and continues to grow. Our gynecologic oncologists attract significant funding each year for research at Carilion Clinic.

Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology Research

Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital childhood cancer program conducts clinical research trials through its association with the Children's Oncology Group (COG). We see approximately 15-20 new oncology patients a year. Having the only three board-certified pediatric hematologist/oncologists in Southwestern Virginia and Southeastern West Virginia, we offer cutting-edge cancer treatment to pediatric patients and their families.
