VelocityCare Coming to Blacksburg in January

Carilion will open a VelocityCare urgent care clinic in Blacksburg in January, 2014. The clinic will be located in the North End development at 215 Gilbert Street. VelocityCare offers walk-in medical services for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries seven days a week, with extended evening hours Monday through Saturday.

Illnesses appropriate for urgent care include: minor cuts and lacerations, sprains, earaches; sports-related injuries; upper respiratory illnesses such as coughs, colds and sore throats; skin rashes; insect bites and stings; minor animal bites; minor burns and minor infections. VelocityCare also offers routine and seasonal vaccinations including flu shots, sports physicians and occupational health services.

Carilion Clinic will also provide orthopaedic services at the North End location. This is the fifth VelocityCare location in Virginia. Carilion also operates VelocityCare urgent care clinics in Roanoke, Daleville, Christiansburg and Westlake.  For more information visit
