Carilion's Accountable Care Organizations Showing Positive Results

Share this:

A new survey by Premier, Inc. indicates Accountable Care Organizations are growing more slowly that initially anticipated, but hospital executives expect to double ACO participation in the next year.

Carilion Clinic continues to be ahead of the curve. Physician-leaders from Carilion, who participated in Premier's survey announcement, say they're already seeing positive results from the Carilion/Aetna ACO, and the Medicare Shared Savings Program, Doctors Connected.  The results include a decrease in hospital readmissions and unnecessary emergency room visits.
