Mr. Arner has overall responsibility for all activities at Carilion Medical Center/Roanoke campus. His previous leadership roles at Carilion provided a variety of experiences: senior vice president with responsibility for Surgical Services, Maintenance and Engineering, Environmental Services and Cardiac and Vascular Services; vice president, Cardiac and Vascular Services; vice president, Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital; and director of Human Resources, Compensation and Metrics. Mr. Arner began his career at Carilion in 1996, serving in various finance roles, including budget team leader/manager. He was an associate in CIGNA’s HealthService Leadership Program from 2002 to 2003. Mr. Arner is on the board of directors for the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association, the Virginia Health Care Waste Management Cooperative and Feeding America Southwest Virginia, as well as the American Hospital Association state alternate delegate for the Regional Policy Board.
