Internal, Non-Funded Research Projects at Carilion Clinic
Internal, non-funded projects are research studies that are done on the principal investigator's own time. There is no money in these projects to purchase supplies or other items necessary for the project. Any research, outreach, training or evaluation project that is done on the PI's own time is considered an internal, non-funded project.
The application process for internal research projects includes:
Application to Conduct Research
The Application to Conduct Research consists of a description of the research project with timelines and sign offs from affected departments.
Institutional Review Board (IRB) Application
The PI must obtain IRB approval prior to starting the project.
