Substance abuse is rarely simple and an individual’s difficulties often affect the entire family. Consequently, our Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine offers comprehensive outpatient treatment programs to meet the wide range of emotional and psychiatric problems connected with addiction that are faced by individuals, couples, and families.
Additionally, often there are co-occurring issues like anxiety, depression, or other behavioral health conditions. Whatever the concerns, our team of specialized professionals is ready to provide comprehensive, individualized care.
Our team uses a multidisciplinary approach to care. At the outset, a psychiatrist provides a thorough evaluation. A treatment plan is then developed with input from other team members, including psychologists, trained social workers, the patient, and when appropriate, the patient’s family. Our psychiatrists also work closely with your primary care physician to coordinate your care, which might include:
- Individual psychotherapy
- Family therapy
- Group therapy
