The Operations Division is commanded by Captain Samuel Bishop, who came to Carilion Clinic after 34 years of service in law enforcement.
It is the responsibility of the Operations Division to provide law enforcement and security related services to the Carilion Clinic communities. The division has both sworn law enforcement officers and non-sworn security officers. Under Captain Bishop's leadership, the Operations Division handles approximately 50,000 calls of service per year in the Roanoke area.
Carilion Clinic Police is a service-oriented department that provides law enforcement services as well as service-related calls for assistance. The Operations Division is responsible for the following functions of the department:
