Physical Exams & Medical Surveillance

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires periodic monitoring for employees exposed to many substances, including asbestos, lead, formaldehyde and a variety of hazardous materials.

For some employees, OSHA requires employers to establish hearing conservation or respiratory protection programs. OSHA has also established safety standards for industries in which employees may be exposed to blood-borne or air-borne pathogens. In addition, employers are required by law to cover the costs of medical treatment for employees who suffer from work-related illness or injury.
