Carilion Clinic Hospice Mutt Strut

The Carilion Clinic Hospice Mutt Strut is an annual event benefitting Carilion Clinic Hospice patients and families. Every year, patrons, pets and families come out to participate in fun activities, compete for prizes and help us raise money for our patient fund, which allows us to provide services to patients who can not afford them.

Dogs compete in fun contests such as Smallest/Largest Dog, Dog/Owner Look-Alike, Best Dressed and Best Kisser. Other activities include a parade, cake walk and a "Blessing of the Paws". Bring the whole family and enjoy shows, demonstrations, vendor market, face painting and meet our pet therapy dogs.

All proceeds directly benefit Carilion Clinic Hospice patients in very special ways. Money raised provides support for services including complimentary therapies, assistance with funeral expenses, utility bill payment for families with limited resources, providing last wish requests for patients, memory-making opportunities for patients' families, and much more.

Donations also support our Pet Peace of Mind Program, which enables hospice patients to keep their pets at home with them without worrying about their pet's current or future needs.
