HERE FOR YOU
In times of emergency, it is comforting to know that you have healthcare professionals at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRV) available 24 hours–a–day to serve you, your family, and friends.
At Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, our goal is to provide safe, timely, and excellent care. Our emergency department (ED) physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers caring for you are among the best, and we are privileged to have this expert team here to serve you and your family.
Level III Trauma Team
Our emergency department is a 22–bed facility that cares for all age groups and complaints. We are designated by the Virginia Office of Emergency Services as a Level III Trauma Center, which means we can care for many complicated cases needing multi–system evaluation and medical treatment.
As a Level III Trauma Center, we use a systematic approach of triage and treatment. Our doctors and nurses are specially trained in the care and stabilization of trauma cases. We are also focused on customer service and work very hard to make every patient’s experience as smooth as possible.
The Emergency Department has a forensic nursing program that provides support and management for victims of abuse or neglect.
Pediatric Patients in the ED
Pediatric patients in the ED have a private pediatric waiting area for comfort of children and their families. Once treated in the ED, if the child is admitted into the hospital, the young patient with his or her family will be given a specially equipped room in our secure Pediatric unit.
CNRV’s emergency department is located at entrance 4. When entering the medical center campus turn right and follow red signs that will direct you to the emergency department entrance 4. Regular and handicap parking is located near the entrance.
Emergency Services are open 24 hours–a–day, every day.
