Community Health Education
For some people a massage is simply a pleasant, relaxing experience, but for
others it is an integral part of medical treatment. The use of touch to
manipulate soft tissue can help reduce pain and stiffness, lower stress and help
your medical treatment and rehabilitation to succeed. Join us for our next
Healthy U seminar with massage therapist Gloria Lawrence where we’ll learn
more about message therapy.
Join us as we learn from Dr. Audra Van Wart, a research scientist from the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute, as she presents “Mythbusters: The Truth About Your Brain.”
Part of Brain Awareness Week, Dr. Van Wart’s discussion is aimed at middle and high school students, though the event is free and open to all.
Her 45-minute presentation will include use of actual plastinated human brains on loan from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg.
