Prepared Childbirth Education

You and your support partner are provided with the information and skills needed to approach labor and birth fully prepared.  This six-week series addresses topics such as breathing and relaxation techniques, the labor partner's role, variations of labor, the labor and birth process, adjustment to parenthood and many other details of labor and birth.  Plan to attend this class in the beginning of your third trimester.

Brain Power: The Role of Exercise and Diet in Maintaining Healthy Synapses

Dr. Valdez will present evidence on how exercise and diet help slow the mental and physical erosion that occurs with aging. A primary focus of his presentation will be the effect of such lifestyles on synapses, which are the sites of communication between neurons.
