Weekend Childbirth Education

This class meets on two consecutive Saturdays. During this series, you and your support partner are provided with the information and skills needed to approach labor and birth fully prepared. Topics covered include breathing and relaxation techniques, the labor partner's role, variations of labor, the labor and birth process, adjustment to parenthood, and many other details of labor and birth. Plan to attend this class in the beginning of your third trimester.

Prepared Childbirth Education

This is as close as you'll come to a baby owner's manual.  A qualified teacher covers the basics of caring for a newborn by addressing such topics as bathing, getting the baby to sleep, understanding baby's cry, diapering, dressing, temperature taking, feeding a newborn, home and car safety, and more.  This class offers expectant parents the opportunity to practice taking care of baby's basic needs.  Plan to attend this one-evening class in your second or third trimester.

JCHS 5K Riverside Run & Wellness Walk

Jefferson College of Health Sciences (JCHS) will host the second annual “JCHS 5K Riverside Run & Wellness Walk” on Saturday, November  9, 2013, presented by Medical Facilities of America, an exclusive provider of LifeWorks Rehab. The 5K run portion of the event begins at 9 a.m. and the wellness walk begins at 9:05 a.m.  Online registration is available now at http://www.jchs5k.com. Proceeds from the event will support the JCHS Alumni Association as it raises money for scholarships to support current students and SARA, Inc. as they provide services to victims of sexual assault and sexual abuse and their families.
