Carilion Clinic has several residency programs. The Office of Professional Staff Affairs (OPSA) recognizes that the residents have a key responsibility to teach students, interns, and fellow residents. While they may feel confident in their clinical responsibilities, they often feel unprepared for the teaching duties they are asked to undertake.
The OPSA developed a program of teaching and learning sessions for residents by building upon the sessions currently offered to attending physicians and our new Medical School Faculty. We also provide support to residents and fellows on a "per request" basis from individual departments.
