The four-year program in obstetrics and gynecology is designed to prepare residents to sit for and to successfully complete the certifying examination of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).
It meets or exceeds all of the requirements set forth under the Residency Review Committee (RRC) in obstetrics and gynecology and those listed in the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) publication, Essentials of Accredited Residencies (Green Book).
The curriculum is subject to change depending upon directives from the RRC or from other regulatory agencies. Opportunities often arise which enhance our abilities to teach and practice. We enthusiastically pursue such venues.
All inpatient OB/GYN services occur at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH). Our outpatient OB and GYN Clinics, prenatal diagnostic center, urogynecology, GYN oncology, and the reproductive endocrinology clinic are all within one mile of CRMH.
The clinics are modern and well-equipped facilities in which residents and faculty care for our clinic population. In addition, we operate a women’s health center at the Salem Veterans Administration Hospital several times a month.
