As Carilion Clinic continues its progression to a multi-specialty clinic model, resources dedicated to research and opportunities to conduct research are expanding. As such, biomedical research in conjunction with VCOM and Virginia Tech has been elevated to a high priority.
Neurosurgery residency research at Carilion Clinic is primarily clinical. Bench research is currently being initiated and is expected to ramp-up with the Virginia Tech Carilion Medical Research Institute.
