As an American Heart Association Training Center for southwest Virginia, Carilion Clinic provides comprehensive life support classes. The Life Support Institute (LSI) of Carilion Clinic provides a series of courses that focus on different aspects of emergency life support needs, including:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
