Geriatric Psychiatry Research
Carilion Clinic - Virginia Tech Carilion Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship faculty are very active in ongoing research, as well as providing education for providers, caregivers and our community in the field of geriatric psychiatry.
We believe that the ability to participate and feel comfortable in such educational formats is vital to the success of a geriatric psychiatrist. We are, therefore, committed to mentoring and fostering these skills in our fellows, including didactic education in the use of various forms of technology and presentation software.
Our graduating fellows have participated in drug trials, retrospective and prospective clinical studies and have worked with biomedical engineers in developing age appropriate technology to improve autonomy which has led to publications and multiple poster presentations.
