Thank you for your interest in the Carilion Clinic - Virginia Tech Carilion Geriatric Medicine Fellowship.

Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible in Family Practice or Internal Medicine, eligible for Virginia licensure and provide verification of completion of three years of residency in either Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

To grant an interview, we review the following materials:

  • Curriculum Vitae (with recent passport-type photo attached)
  • Copy of medical school diploma
  • Letter of recommendation from the candidate's residency director
  • Two other letters of recommendation from physicians who support your interest and goals in geriatric medicine
  • Medical school transcript
  • Personal statement pertaining to the geriatric fellowship
  • Statement of interest and personal plan that could impact experience (travel, time off, etc.)
  • Passing score of inservice during residency
  • USMLE step scores
  • ECFMG certificate (if applicable)
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or copy of visa
