Carilion Clinic Breast Care Center receives more than $10,000 from two Smith Mountain Lake Organizations.

The Carilion Clinic Breast Care Center will be able to better assist its patients thanks to the hard work and generosity of two Smith Mountain Lake organizations. This evening the CBCC received more than $10,000 to support patient care.

The Smith Mountain Lake Poker Run presented the Center with a check for $5,523 from its second annual event. The funds will be used to purchase equipment for the center.

The Smith Mountain Lake Fraternal Order of Eagles presented the center with a check for $5,000 from its fundraising activities. The funds will be used to provide every patient with a copy of a comprehensive breast cancer treatment guide.

“We are so thankful for their generosity and kindness,” said Carilion Breast Care Center Nurse Specialist Catherine Hagan. “Their gift means so much to us and our patients”.
