my social media speaking debut

Many of you are aware that I was attending Social Slam this Friday, and that I got to give a 10-minute presentation about some events that came together early on. You have all heard the story of our Vaccine Town Hall, so I won't repeat it here.

I was planning to talk about the conference, and how wonderful it was, but it seems that one of the attendees has beat me to it. So I invite you to visit Chris Craft's blog and read the story.

This was a GREAT conference. I was impressed by the passion, the content and the delivery of all of the speakers. I was impressed that a bunch of volunteers was able to put together such a professional meeting. I was impressed that the well-known speakers were speaking for free, and that the 600-or-so participants had an opportunity to meet and talk with these social media greats. I was impressed that Mark W Schaefer, who initiated the conference last year, is just as nice in person as he appears on his blog and in his tweets. I feel honored to be able to call him (and many others now) friend.

I felt humbled to be speaking with these other wonderful folks, and amazed that so many of them went out of their way to compliment my talk, and to get to know me as a person. I am inspired to do more, and I feel slightly more competent in doing it now.

So what I need to say is: THANK YOU to you, my readers for sticking with me, for being interested in the things I have to say. I hope I may continue to add value to your day from time to time, and I look forward to hearing your comments, questions and suggestions.
