Speaking at Social Slam 2012 in Knoxville, TN

I am very embarrassed that I neglected to post this video before now. As many of you know I was a speaker last spring at Social Slam 2012 in Knoxville.

I promised to show you the video of my talk. Hmmm…

I received some feedback from readers off line about how difficult it was for them to read about the last abuse case that I wrote about. I have been reluctant to cause more pain. However, I obviously agree about how important the topic is. Perhaps the next case will not be quite so tragic....

I was right behind you and enjoyed every moment. Attending the meeting and meeting you in person was one of the highlights of the day for me.

About Dr. Ackerman

Alice Ackerman, MD, MBA, FAAP, FCCM is the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Carilion Clinic and Professor and Founding Chair of Pediatrics at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Dr. Ackerman is recognized nationally as an expert in pediatric critical care.

She has been at Carilion Clinic since June of 2007. Her primary goals are to enhance the health care of children in the Roanoke Valley and Southwest Virginia, and is actively working to do this both as physician in chief of the children's hospital, as well as through involvement with many state-wide initiatives.
