Why did you choose to work at Carilion?
“I chose to work at CFMH because it is in a smaller community. I grew up in this area and wanted the opportunity to serve individuals within my hometown (many of whom helped me get to where I am today).”
What inspires your work here at Carilion?
“The ability to help others of all ages in numerous ways (from decreasing their pain, helping them learn to walk again, being able to dress independently, etc.).”
What motivates you to do your job well?
“I enjoy seeing individuals get better.”
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
“There is no greater satisfaction than seeing an individual come in to therapy with significant functional limitations and within a few weeks finish therapy with the ability to do all the functional tasks they need and want to do.”

“With small children, I appreciate the opportunity to work 36 hours per week and still be eligible to receive full benefits. My manager has been very flexible with my work schedule if and when needed. More recently, Carilion has sponsored numerous continuous education opportunities free to therapists.”
