One half-hour east of Roanoke is the City of Bedford in Bedford County, home of Bedford Memorial Hospital (BMH). Bedford County borders the Blue Ridge Parkway, which boasts the Peaks of Otter, a small resort area that is well known for hiking, picnicking and camping. Bedford also borders Smith Mountain Lake, which is the perfect spot for water sports and other leisure activities. Bedford County is rich in history with the National D-Day Memorial and Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest home located there.
Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital (CSJH) has long served the Rockbridge County, Virginia community as an independent, not-for-profit organization established to meet the primary health care needs of the public. CSJH is located in the small Shenandoah Valley town of Lexington, which is also home to Washington and Lee University and Virginia Military Institute.
Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital (CFMH) is located in the town of Rocky Mount in Franklin County, a rural community that is only miles away from Smith Mountain Lake. Franklin County is a growing business community that still has small-town charm.
If you like the outdoors, you will love Pearisburg in Giles County, the home of Carilion Giles Community Hospital (CGCH). The county is the center of many exciting outdoor locations, such as the Appalachian Trail and Jefferson National Forest. It also boasts several beautiful parks and offers many recreational programs for the whole family.
Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRV) is located in the New River Valley, which includes Blacksburg, Christiansburg and Radford. Two of Virginia’s largest colleges, Radford University and Virginia Tech, are just minutes away. Unique shops abound in this area.
Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital (CTCH) is located in the small southwestern Virginia town of Tazewell, near the West Virginia border. Tazewell County has a rich heritage. Its beautiful scenery makes it a vacation and sportsman's paradise.
