Medical Benefits
Your health and well-being are important, so we offer a comprehensive program of healthcare benefits. Our medical plan benefits include prescription drug coverage and vision care. Carilion absorbs a percentage of the medical benefits costs for our employees and their families.
Dental Benefits
Our dental plan promotes good dental health through regular exams and preventive dentistry. We offer both a basic plan and a comprehensive plan, which includes orthodontia.
Fitness Discount Memberships
To help you achieve your fitness goals, discount memberships are available to Carilion employees at the Botetourt Athletic Club, the Roanoke Athletic Club and RAC Xpress in Roanoke.
Employee Assistance Program
Our Employee Assistance Program provides confidential counseling assistance to help you better manage your work and personal responsibilities. Carilion covers 100 percent of the cost for up to three sessions per year, per issue, with a licensed or certified counselor for you and/or your immediate family members.

Our short-term disability and long-term disability benefits can help protect your lifestyle by providing a portion of your income in the event of a disabling accident or illness.
Dependent and Healthcare Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
An FSA allows you to set aside money on a pre-tax basis for certain kinds of common expenses for you and your eligible dependents. With an FSA, you can reduce your taxes while paying for services that you’d purchase anyway, such as prescriptions and childcare. We offer two types of FSAs — Dependent Care and Healthcare. For the Dependent Care FSA, Carilion will make a $10 per pay period contribution to your account.
