Our patients should expect a warm welcome every time they visit our offices. Cancer care can be frightening, and we’re here to help women understand their treatment options in a comfortable environment. The following tips will help you through your first visit with us:
- A support person is welcome to join you
- Know your personal and family medical histories
- Prior to your visit, check with your insurance company to see if referral authorization is required
- Please bring your insurance card with you and be prepared to pay your co-payment at check-in
- Expect to be in our clinic for one-two hours
- You may eat and drink prior to appointment
- A nurse will check you in, and then you and your family will meet with the physician to discuss your case before a personal exam is conducted
- If surgery is necessary, you’ll meet with our surgery scheduler and receive a detailed surgery information packet
- You may encounter a medical resident as part of our commitment to education
- If you are eligible for a clinical trial, your doctor will discuss this with you
