Miracle Baby Thriving After 4-Month Stay in Carilion NICU

Kenia Martinez weighed only 12 ounces at birth, but after four months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, her family,  was able to take her home.  Kenia is the smallest birth-weight baby ever discharged from the Carilion NICU.

WSLS-TV anchor Karen McNew visited Kenia and her family at their home in Independence, VA, and spoke with one of the Carilion nurses who worked with them during their stay.
