Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital Ranked 4th in Virginia

Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is ranked 4th in Virginia in  U.S. News & World Report's 2014-15 Best Hospital list.  According to U.S. News, Carilion's flagship hospital:

"performed nearly at the level of nationally ranked U.S. News Best Hospitals in 10 adult specialties...It scored high in patient safety, demonstrating commitment to reducing accidents and medical mistakes."

The 10 adult specialties earning "high performing" status are; Cardiology and Heart Surgery, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, Gynecology, Nephrology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Pulmonology, and Urology.

 

UPDATE - Carilon Roanoke Memorial Hospital President Steve Arner spoke with WDBJ-TV about the ranking.
