Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital Patient Shines in Children's Miracle Network Spotlight

Each year Food Lion fundraises for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®. This year, there’s an exciting twist. 6 markets across the country were selected to have a local patient on the shelves of Food Lion stores to brand the partnership with CMN Hospitals. Roanoke is pleased to be one of them. Victor Chase, a 6 year old kindergartner, has been treated at Carilion Clinic Children’s Hospital since birth. He will now be featured throughout the nation promoting the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising campaign in Food Lion stores, April 30-May 27.

From April 30 – May 27, 2014, Food Lion customers can purchase paper Miracle Balloons at the register, with proceeds benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in their community. Food Lion has been a national corporate sponsor of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1991 and has raised more than $45 million for children’s hospitals.

Victor and his family joined Tony the Tiger, the Food Lion mascot and Dr. Alice Ackerman, Chair of Pediatrics at Carilion Clinic Children’s Hospital, to sign autographs at the Starkey Road store.
