come make miracles with us

This Saturday,  November 5,  you have a chance to make miracles happen.

The Children's Miracle Network Hospitals-Roanoke Chapter is hosting its annual Miracles for Children Gala at the Hotel Roanoke. The event is ALWAYS fun, with lots of good food, a chance to hear from a miracle family, and an opportunity to help make miracles happen in our community.

It was not possible to personally send everyone in Roanoke a printed invitation, but you are ALL invited. You are all part of the community.

The folks who read this blog are either recipients of prior miracles (i. e. the families of our patients), or providers of miracles (by contributing in the past, or by working at the Children's Hospital, or both), and I would invite you to write a bit about how you have been affected by giving or receiving.  Or you may not live in this community, but you understand how important having a children's hospital in your community is. Please let others know how important it is that they come out and show their support for the work being done to support the health of our children and their families.

The event is at the Hotel Roanoke. It starts at 6:30 pm with a reception and a "chef's challenge". Five area chefs will vie for the right to be this year's Miracle Chef. Get there early to enjoy sampling all the entries, and voting for your favorite. This is followed by moving into the main dining room, where there will be many stations of entrees available, as well as a silent and live auction. I have contributed some polymer clay figures to the silent auction.

Honestly, lots of people for you to meet. You can mingle and eat and drink all night. There is very little in the way of speeches, because we want folks to have a good time. And, assuming it doesn't have to go on the road, our Mobile ICU will be in attendance as well.

Tickets are $100 each. I know that sounds pricey, but think about the children who need your help. Click this link for more information or call the CMN office at 540-224-4747
