Carilion Clinic - Westlake
A new, state-of-the-art medical complex is now open at Smith Mountain Lake. The new $4 million facility represents Carilion Clinic’s investment in the future health and well-being of the lake community. The facility opened on July 27, 2009 on a 21-acre site located in the Westlake Towne Center, behind Kroger.
The 10,000-square-foot complex brings together urgent care, sleep services, imaging technology and medical specialists in a single location. Additionally, Life-Guard emergency helicopters can land on a new, adjoining helipad and ambulance personnel are on-site, enhancing emergency care for the lake area.
Physician specialists include cardiologists and OB/GYNs. As the needs of the community grow, other types of specialists may be added to offer lake residents services they need that are close to home.
