About Mary

Mary Arnold has been an employee of Carilion since 1999. She is currently the Women's Health Navigator with clinical responsibilities in The BirthplaceUrinary and Sexual Health Center  and Mammography/Ultrasound as it relates to invasive breast biopsy procedures. Mary also coordinates the Red Hot Mamas menopause education program, now in its fifth year at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRV). She also teaches childbirth education and is currently certified as a Health Education Specialist by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. She also works with Amy in planning and facilitating various women's health events, including CNRV's annual Women's Lifestyle Expo in April and the Women's Health Event each November.

Mary has an Associate in Applied Science degree from Wytheville Community College. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Virginia State University and a Master of Science in Community Health Education from Old Dominion University. Currently, she is working toward a Master of Public Health from Virginia Tech.

About Amy

Also an employee of Carilon since 1999, Amy Epperley began her work at the Radford Wellness and Fitness Center, a Carilion affiliate, before transitioning to Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation at CNRV. She became CNRV's Community Health Educator (CHE) in 2008. As the CHE, Amy shares important health information with everyone from children to seniors across the New River Valley.

Amy has a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Radford University and her Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Health Promotion from Virginia Tech. Like Mary, Amy is also pursuing her Master of Public Health from Virginia Tech.
