Carilion Occupational Medicine (COM) is backed by clinical professionals and support staff with training and expertise in compliance issues.
The medical staff located in the Carilion Occupational Medicine Clinic at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital specializes in toxicology.
All medical surveillance programs meet OSHA standards, and all post-incident testing is done in accordance with OSHA standards. Our Medical Review Officers are certified by the Medical Review Officer Certification Council.
All personnel are trained in applicable federal and state regulations. Specimens for drug screens are collected according to mandatory guidelines for Federal Workplace Drug Testing Programs, maintaining specimen integrity and accurate chain-of-custody.
Breath alcohol testing is performed by Certified Breath Alcohol Technicians. Audiometric Screening is completed by Certified Audiometric Technicians. The laboratory we use is certified by the Department of Health and Human Services. And through Carilion's EAP, we can provide you with licensed and certified Substance Abuse Professionals.
