Support for Perinatal Loss (S.H.A.R.E.)

The loss of a pregnancy or a newborn is a devastating experience. Family and friends often don’t understand what parents are going through after such an event, and they don’t know how to help. Carilion Clinic’s SHARE program is a resource for parents, family members and friends during this difficult time.

SHARE helps the healing process begin and supports families in their journey through grief. It stands for:

A Source of
    Help in
    Airing and
    Resolving
Experiences related to the death of a baby.

SHARE provides bereavement literature and a comprehensive website with numerous resources to aid in the grief process. SHARE also holds an annual service of remembrance for families who have experienced the loss of an infant through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or newborn death.
