Carilion Clinic now offers pediatric and adolescent gynecological care. Pediatric gynecology is a new specialty that blends the expertise of gynecologists, pediatricians and urologists. The gynecologic problems seen in infants and children differ significantly from adult women, and we’re proud to provide this specialized care to our community.
We diagnose and treat gynecologic problems in infants, children, adolescents and teenagers with a full spectrum of clinical and support services. We also provide abstinence counseling, contraceptive counseling and pregnancy prevention strategies.

Pediatric and adolescent gynecological care is provided by a team of professionals led by Eduardo Lara-Torre, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Dr. Lara-Torre has been fellowship trained to perform procedures such as laparoscopy, laser surgery, vaginoscopy and colposcopy in adolescents and children. He uses special instruments and equipment to assess patients in a comfortable, non-threatening environment.
Dr. Lara-Torre is supported by nurses, social workers and other health professionals.
