Our Services
The Carilion Clinic Cancer Center offers state-of-the-art technology including Virginia's only Cyberknife radiosurgery technology. It is a remarkable breakthrough for treating lesions which would have once been diagnosed as inoperable, and delivers highly focused radiation with pinpoint accuracy to treat cancer and other diseases quickly and painlessly.
Carilion Clinic's Inpatient Oncology unit features dedicated oncology nursing staff, social workers, nutritionists and physician specialists. Housed in a new wing in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, the private rooms provide comforting views of the Roanoke Valley - home to many of our patients.
The Carilion Breast Care Center offers both breast screening and diagnostic services. Innovation and advances in technology enhance the ability of physicians and technologists to provide accurate screening and prompt diagnosis. Our biopsy procedures enable the patient accurate diagnosis and in most cases, 24 hour notification of results, without having to go to the hospital for biopsy.
The oncology program at Carilion includes a comprehensive range of physician specialists such as radiologists, pathologists, medical and radiation oncologists and surgeons. Other clinical specialists include therapists, counselors, dietitians, physicists, medical dosimetrists and nurses specializing in the care of cancer patients.
