LifeWorks is a monthly newsletter written by John Ingram Walker, M.D., the Director of Psychiatric Education at Carilion Clinic Saint Albans Hospital.

Dr. Walker comes to Carilion Clinic from Texas, where he was the behavioral health unit medical director for St. Joseph Regional Health System. Formerly a clinical associate professor of psychiatry at Duke University and the University of Texas Health and Science Center-San Antonio, Dr. Walker has authored 12 books and numerous articles about psychiatry and the behavioral medicine field. He and his wife enjoy living in the New River Valley near their children and grandchildren.
