The Carilion Clinic - Virginia Tech Carilion Internal Medicine Residency Program offers fellowships in the following disciplines:

Infectious Disease

Led by director Charles J. Schleupner, M.Sc., M.D., FACP, FIDSA, FSHEA, the Infectious Disease Fellowship strives to provide the specialized knowledge, insights, attitudes and skills required to be an Infectious Diseases expert, and the clinical judgment to provide optimal patient care.

Pulmonary / Critical Care Medicine

W. Hal Cragun, M.D., FACP, FCCP is the Pulmonary / Critical Care Medicine Fellowship program director. Critcal Care was approved recently, so the Pulmonary Fellowship became a Pulmonary / Critical Care Fellowship in July 2010.

Geriatric Medicine

The Geriatric Medicine Fellowship program director is Soheir Boshra, M.D. The goal of the fellowship is to deliver unequaled learning opportunities so that graduates will become competent and compassionate geriatricians.

Cardiology

David Sane, M.D., FACP is the Cardiology Fellowship program director.

Hospice and Palliative Medicine

Aubrey Knight, M.D. is the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship program director.
