Pediatric Educational Opportunities and Events at Carilion Clinic

Carilion Clinic believes that early education on health topics provides children and their parents the road map to a fulfilling and healthy life. In our Events and Classes Calendar you will find a number of classes, events and health fairs on a variety of different topics.

Just a few of the choices include:

  • Girl Talk – A class for mothers and their 9-12 year old daughters to discuss issues pertaining to puberty
  • Camp Too Sweet – For young people ages 7-16 who have Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
  • Camp Tree House - A weekend camping experience for children ages 6-17 who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
  • Camp Carilion - Provides hands on experience for middle school students to learn about healthcare careers.
  • Family Camp - An opportunity for children with chronic illnesses and their immediate families to attend camp together. It's opportunity for kids to be kids, to get away and to forget about their illness.
